Mea Culpa is a steamy thriller about criminal defense lawyer Mea Harper (Rowland), who decides to represent seductive artist Zyair (Rhodes). The artist is accused of killing his girlfriend and may be a “psychopath,” but desire takes hold between the attorney and client, and things get dangerous.
Tyler Perry wrote and directed the film, as well as co-produced it.
The movie is part of a multi-picture production deal Perry has with Netflix. He also recently signed a multi-year TV agreement with the streaming service, which just greenlit his upcoming series titled Beauty in Black.
Mea Culpa premieres Feb. 23 on Netflix.
