A luxury getaway puts Terrence Howard at a poker table where more than money is on the line in A Good Hand Wasted.

The Empire actor leads the cast of the new psychological thriller, which premieres Nov. 6 on streaming platform Turnstr+.

In an announcement posted to Instagram Monday, the streamer teased: “The game doesn’t change. Only the players do.”

The story follows six longtime friends who jet off on vacation to an exclusive private island. Their escape takes a troubling turn when they are drawn into a high-stakes poker game and Howard places a gun on the table.

“Under the control of a mysterious dealer, buried secrets surface, loyalties unravel and the friends find themselves fighting to survive the next hand,” the official description reads.

The cast also includes Jessica Lindsey, Chelsea Tavares, Giovanni Watson, Ninja Devoe, Jonathan Hugh, Phil Tyler, Alfred Nolan Thomas II and Dorien Wilson.

Howard praised his fellow actors in a statement to Variety earlier this year.

“These brothers and sisters on set that I’m working with are thespians. There’s no games, no shucking and jiving, everybody is really bringing their A-game,” he said.

The actor also shared what he hopes viewers take away from the thriller.

“Hopefully, the audience will learn to appreciate living in the moment and appreciate life as it stands and not have to risk their lives just to feel alive,” he added.

He continued, “Life is supposed to be lived and appreciated, not taken for granted.”

Rhyan Lamarr wrote and directed the film, and worked on the music. The movie is part of a three-picture deal the filmmaker has with Turnstr+.

A Good Hand Wasted brings Howard’s star power to Turnstr+, which is described as a free, creator-first streaming platform that combines original content with opportunities for both emerging and established filmmakers.
