Snowfall fans could soon see more of Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons.

Gail Bean, who played Wanda on the series, shared news on her Instagram Stories Monday that FX has ordered a pilot for a potential spinoff.

According to Variety, which was the first outlet to report details on the pilot, the project would star Bean and Isaiah John who played Leon.

FX Productions is producing the project.

Created by the late John Singleton, Eric Amadio and Dave Andron, Snowfall chronicled the rise of the crack cocaine epidemic, the destruction it caused in South Central Los Angeles, and how an off-the-books CIA operation contributed to the crisis.

According to the official description, the spinoff is: “Set in 90s Los Angeles soon after the end of the original series as a recovering addict (Bean) strives to take West Coast rap mainstream despite potential infighting from a harrowing gang war.”

As Urban Hollywood 411 previously reported, the spinoff was announced in 2023.

Malcolm Spellman (Bel-Air and Empire) has been brought in to write the pilot and serve as showrunner if the series gets picked up.

Dave Andron, who co-created the original series, would co-executive produce alongside Trevor Engelson, Michael London, Tommy Schlamme and Julie DeJoie.

Snowfall ended its six-season run in April 2023.

Damson Idris led the cast as Franklin Saint, a young drug kingpin in Los Angeles, and won an NAACP Image Award for his performance.

The cast also included Angela Lewis, Amin Joseph, Carter Hudson, Isaiah John, Devyn A. Tyler, Tamara Taylor, DeVaughn Nixon, and Sergio Peris-Mencheta.
