Tami Roman is returning for another round of sibling deception in the sequel to Lifetime’s Double Double Trouble.

The network announced details on the new film Tuesday, saying the first movie was its highest-rated original film of 2026.

The actress executive produces and stars alongside Roger Cross in Double Double Trouble 2, with Roman reprising her dual roles as identical twins Drea and Ali.

The first film debuted in February. The thriller drew 625,000 viewers ages 25 and older in Live+Same Day viewing, beating the network’s original-movie premiere average by 54%. Among women ages 25–64, the film attracted 235,000 viewers, beating the average by 90%.

Now the twins’ bitter rivalry is getting a second installment.

The first film followed Drea as she struggled with a devastating miscarriage and the collapse of her marriage.

Her sister Ali, meanwhile, found love with Ryan, played by Colin Lawrence, whose presence stirred up Drea’s resentment over everything she believed she had lost. As old wounds reopened, Drea was pulled into a dangerous psychological battle with her twin, leading to deadly consequences.

In Double Double Trouble 2, Drea assumes Ali’s identity and gets everything she always wanted — a cooking show, the fiancé and the name on the wedding invitations. But there’s a major plot twist when the hospital calls to reveal the real Ali is still alive.

Drea tries to keep up the charade, but their aunt suspects something is amiss. Ali’s fiancé Ryan also starts to notice his bride doesn’t remember details about her life. To complicate matters, a long-lost twin brother, Randy (Roger Cross) assumes Ryan’s identity as easily as Drea slid into Ali’s.

By the time Ali’s memory returns, the sisters end up face to face again with a knife between them and a lifetime of resentment.

Double Double Trouble 2 is produced by Navid Soofi for Novus Pictures in association with Studio TF1 America. Timothy O. Johnson, Meghan Hooper White, Abbey Sibucao-MacDonald, Jill Ramsey and Tami Roman serve as executive producers.

James Bamford directed the film from a script by Sa’Rah L. Jones.

Roman previously starred in the Lifetime thriller Girl in the Closet alongside rapper Remy Ma. The 2023 film was based on real events about a 10-year-old girl who was mistakenly placed in the custody of her convicted killer aunt after her mother suffered an aneurysm.

A premiere date for Roman’s new film will be announced later.
