‘SNL’ Announces Final Hosts of 2024 – Including Chris Rock

Saturday Night Live with close out 2024 with hosts Chris Rock, Martin Short and Paul Mescal.

Rock is set to emcee the sketch comedy series on Dec. 14, NBC announced Monday, Dec. 2.

This marks the Emmy and Grammy-winning comedian’s fourth time as host. Rock was a member of the SNL cast from 1990 to 1993.

The Top Five star joked about his exit from SNL, when he appeared on the show in May 2019.

“I got fired,” Rock shared. “I was fired by NBC. Then I went on In Living Color. Three weeks later, they took it off TV.”

Since the ’90s, Rock has had roles in a long list of films, he voices and produces the animated Everybody Still Hates Chris, and in 2023 he made headlines with Netflix’s first live stand-up special, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage.

The week Rock hosts SNL, singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams will serve as musical guest in support of her new album The Secret of Us.

A week earlier, Gladiator II star Paul Mescal will host the program on Dec. 7.

Rapper and singer Shaboozey will serve as musical guest on the episode. The six-time 2025 Grammy Award nominee’s single, “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” has been #1 for 19 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Only Murders in the Building star Martin Short will host SNL’s final episode of the year, on Dec. 21.

This is the Emmy and Tony Award winner’s third time as solo host and his fifth time hosting overall.

Hozier will take the stage on the episode as musical guest, promoting the release of the deluxe version of the album Unreal Unearth, which hits stores on Dec. 6.

SNL airs Saturdays on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT and streams live on Peacock.

The show will mark its 50th anniversary with a live primetime special on Sunday, Feb. 16.
