The first teaser trailer is out for Captain America: Brave New World, and it features Anthony Mackie taking action to prevent a global crisis.

In the trailer released Friday, July 12, Mackie picks up the Captain America mantle from Chris Evans after the events of Avengers: Endgame and the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

“I have to get used to the new look,” Mackie says jokingly in the video.

As events begin to unfold, Mackie’s Sam Wilson is brought in to help “manage” the situation when a plot surfaces to throw the globe into chaos.

“After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford), Sam (Mackie) finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red,” according to the official description.

The cast also includes Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Shira Haas, and Giancarlo Esposito as a mysterious villain.

Mackie first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In that film, he played Sam Wilson, AKA The Falcon, a veteran who helped Chris Evans’ Captain America no matter the cost.

Mackie went on to portray the character in subsequent films before heading to the small screen in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Captain America: Brave New World is directed by Nigerian-American filmmaker Julius Onah from a script written by Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson and Matthew Orton.

The film arrives in theaters on Feb. 14, 2025.
