Anthony Mackie is ready for the world to see his version of the famed Marvel superhero Captain America on the big screen.
On the red carpet at TCL Chinese Theater on Tuesday, Feb. 11, for the world premiere of Captain America: Brave New World, Mackie expressed his excitement for his character to get his moment.
“It’s absolutely amazing, I’ve worked a long time for this moment,” Mackie said. “I’m just excited that Sam Wilson gets his moment to shine.”
The plot follows Captain America, Sam Wilson, who finds himself in the middle of an international incident after meeting with the newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford). It’s up to Wilson to find out the reason behind this “nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red,” according to the official description.

Mackie teased the film has everything Marvel fans love.
“This movie kind of encapsulates — it’s all of the trademarks that we love from Marvel films. You know it’s the action, it’s high packed, it’s exciting, it’s everything. It’s just, even from this [red carpet], you get to see just the size and the scope of the movie and I’m just excited for people to see Sam Wilson,” Mackie added on the red carpet.
The film also stars Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick), Shira Haas (Unorthodox) Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Carl Lumbly (M.A.N.T.I.S.), Xosha Roquemore (Cherish the Day), Tim Blake Nelson (The Incredible Hulk), and Liv Tyler (Lord of the Rings).
Helmed by Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox), Captain America: Brave New World is set to be released in theaters on Feb. 14.
