Last season, Jennifer’s castmates warned her about moving too quickly with Christian because of his past brushes with the law.
In the days before the wedding, Christian was arrested for violating his probation on a false imprisonment conviction. The judge in the case allowed him to serve two days before jetting off to Paris for the wedding, TMZ reported at the time. But the judge ordered him to quickly return to DeKalb County, Georgia, to serve out the rest of his 15-day sentence.
In the trailer for season 12 of Basketball Wives, longtime cast member Evelyn Lozada calls Christian a “scammer” and a “f–king thief.” She also has choice words for Jennifer.
On the red carpet, a smiling Jennifer brushed off Evelyn’s comments and said she should mind her own business.
“I know people have had things to say, some of my castmates, but when you’ve had no successful marriages, you are in no place to give any advice,” Jennifer stated, without saying Evelyn’s name.
This is Jennifer’s second marriage. She was previously married to retired NBA player Eric Williams. The first four seasons of Basketball Wives followed the collapse of their marriage. They had no children together.
Evelyn married then-Miami Dolphins player Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson in 2012, but filed for divorce 41 days after the wedding following a domestic dispute and Johnson’s subsequent arrest on a domestic violence charge.
Evelyn skipped the Basketball Wives premiere event on Friday night.
Season 12 of the reality series debuts Monday, May 5 at 8/7c on VH1.
