President Donald Trump has a lot on his plate ahead of the midterm elections. Apparently, former President Barack Obama’s diet is one of them.
At a rally in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Tuesday, Trump compared their health, golf skills and salad standards. Because nothing says closing argument for congressional Republicans like a good bowl of salad.
Trump brought up Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), his former White House physician, and recounted a purported conversation when Jackson was asked to reveal the healthiest president among Trump, Obama and George W. Bush.
“He said, ‘Without question, the healthiest is President Donald J. Trump.’ And I loved him,” Trump told a crowd of supporters.

He also claimed he’s more skilled on the golf course than Obama, before taking the discussion to the produce aisle.
“But, you know, because Obama, every piece of lettuce he eats has to be perfect, and I don’t — I’m not that choosy,” he said.
Obama’s Cheesecake Factory Jab
Trump has been ticked off since Obama mentioned his White House renovations and mocked the current state of the presidential residence at a campaign rally Saturday in Cleveland, Ohio.
“Guy’s building a ballroom that’s bigger than the White House. He’s paved over the Rose Garden. He’s put a helicopter pad on the South Lawn. And there’s gold everywhere. What’s up with the gold?” Obama said. “He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.”
Obama said Trump is so fixated on renovations, he “should be on HGTV.”
Trump’s Response
Trump defended the renovations on Monday at a rally in Corinth, Mississippi. He claimed the building was falling apart and desperately needed repairs.
“He doesn’t understand the White House has to be clean, pristine, beautiful. It can’t have cracks in the column,” Trump said.
He noted Cheesecake Factory is “a very successful company,” and claimed Obama is anti-business. “He doesn’t like successful companies,” said Trump.
Obama Claps Back
Obama returned to the subject Wednesday at a rally for Democrats outside Atlanta, joking that Trump seemed more offended about the restaurant jab than the Saddam comparison.
“These are not serious people,” Obama said about Trump and the Republican party. “And we’re all paying the price for their lack of seriousness.”
The former president was getting fired up and continued to roast Trump.
“The Saddam Hussein thing didn’t bother him. But he was very upset about the Cheesecake Factory,” Obama said. “I mean, it’s all crazy, but this is the crazy part, they mobilized a whole government response to that joke.”
He also brushed off claims that he’s no fan of the Cheesecake Factory.
“I am the father of two daughters,” Obama said. “Do you think I could have survived their childhood without going to the Cheesecake Factory?”
