Wayne Brady’s days of spending time sheltered with his ex-wife Mandie Taketa, their daughter Maile Brady, and Taketa’s boyfriend Jason, will be the inspiration for a new comedy series.

Brady told Access Daily hosts Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover the situation isn’t all too different from life before quarantine and that the experience is natural for many blended families.

“In this time of a bubble, her and her boyfriend come over to my place because we live two minutes away from each other and we quarantine together with our daughter. So it’s been natural for us, we didn’t need a quarantine to do that—we’ve been doing this for Maile’s whole life,” the Emmy-winning actor and comedian said.

“Now we have a sitcom that we are working on with our friends who were the showrunners over at Will & Grace, Tracy and Jon. We’re writing a script about our life as a blended family, we call ourselves the ‘core four,’” he added.

The Let’s Make a Deal host also shared on Instagram how proud he is that his family members are all working together on the show.

“This story is new to many but if you know us, you know we’ve been on this journey for years together. Expect to see our girl @theofficialmailebrady and of course @jasonmichaelfordham will be working on the show. We can’t wait! Work is sweeter when you can make it with family! #thecorefour,” he captioned the post.
