Insecure actor Kendrick Sampson was captured on video being punched in the jaw and having a gun drawn on him by a police officer in Cartagena, Colombia.
The incident occurred after the HBO star was stopped this week outside a jewelry store.
The actor explained what happened in an Instagram post, and said the footage was initially uploaded to social media by his friend, Colombian actress Natalia Reyes.
“Cartagena is AMAZING but this is the 6th time I was stopped in 5 days. It happens to Black Colombians often. I’m told stopping is policy,” Sampson wrote.
The video shows an officer striking Sampson so hard that the actor stumbles backwards. The officer then pulls out his gun, handcuffs Sampson, and leads him away.
“I did not resist any legal procedure,” the actor wrote on Instagram.

Reyes wrote on her Instagram post in Spanish: “POLICE BRUTALITY. This is my friend Kendrick Sampson @kendrick38, an actor and dedicated activist of the @blklivesmatter movement in the United States, today this happened to him in Cartagena and it hurts me a lot, not only because it’s him and he is my friend, but also because this is the day-to-day of many, because we have accustomed ourselves to this and it is NOT good, it is not normal.”
Earlier this year, Sampson was injured during a Black Lives Matter protest in Los Angeles.
In May, the actor and BLM activist revealed that he was hit by rubber bullets fired by Los Angeles Police Department officers as they tried to disperse crowds of protesters in Pan Pacific Park.
Sampson posted several videos of the incident on his Instagram account.
“They shot me four times already. I already got hurt and I got hit with a baton,” he said.
