Former NFL champions Vernon Davis and Omar Bolden look to score a win with the upcoming mockumentary series Match Point.

The two play former professional tennis players Max Winters (Davis) and Anthony Bell (Bolden) turned podcast hosts.

With pressure to bring in listeners, they face a chaotic production team led by neurotic producer Olivia (Ashley Haas).

“From outrageous mishaps during live broadcasts to petty rivalries behind the camera, the team’s attempts to create something meaningful are sabotaged by their own egos, incompetence, and sheer absurdity,” according to the official description.

The cast also includes Rob Gordon, Simone Leanora, and Hedy Wong.

Created by award-winning filmmaker Joslyn Rose Lyons, the series premieres in February on Apple TV+ and Prime Video.

Lyons also serves as executive producer alongside Davis, Johanna Saldana, and Dominique Mouton.

“My vision was to create a project that not only entertains but also pushes the boundaries of storytelling — blending mockumentary with new media and breaking the fourth wall,” Lyons said in a statement.

Added Davis, “I’m excited about the unique blend of comedy and mockumentary in this project — it’s a fresh take on podcasting like you’ve never seen before. Bringing all of us together in this format creates a one-of-a-kind experience, and I can’t wait for viewers to enjoy it.”

Davis is a former NFL tight end who played for the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos. His acting credits include roles in the films, The Perfect Match (2016) and The Comeback Trail (2020). He also appeared in the TV series Empire and Black-ish.

Lyons made her feature-length studio directorial debut with the 2023 documentary Stand (Showtime/Paramount) featuring Steph Curry, Shaquille O’Neal, Mahershala Ali, and Ice Cube, and earned a Sports Emmy nomination for outstanding documentary.

Their new project, Match Point, begins streaming Tuesday, Feb. 11 on Apple TV+ and on Prime Video.
