Mike Tyson and Netflix are reuniting for a new docuseries on the boxer’s life.

The streamer announced the authorized series on Tuesday, Dec. 17, saying it will take an “unflinching look” at the legendary boxer and cultural icon — from his legal troubles and personal struggles (substance abuse, finances, in-ring controversies), to his meteoric rise to the “Baddest Man on the Planet.”

“Having an opportunity to share my story through the reflective lens of my growth and maturity in a multi-part documentary on Netflix will be a challenging journey, yet a very welcoming one,” Tyson said in a statement.

Tyson was the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history. At just 20 years old, he defeated then-champion Trevor Berbick in November 1986 for the  World Boxing Council heavyweight title.

Executive producers include Ian Orefice of EverWonder Studio; Jim Gray of Scratchy Productions, Michael Hughes and Greg C. Lake of DLP Media Group; and Douglas Banker of Five All In The Fifth.

The director is Floyd Russ, known for the documentaries, Untold: Malice at the Palace, American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon, and Bombing, Zion. A release date for the three-part docuseries will be announced later.

The news about the untitled Netflix series comes just over a month after Tyson faced Jake Paul in one of the most-watched global sporting events ever.

The historic Nov. 15 boxing match, was streamed live by 108 million viewers worldwide, according to streaming data provided by Netflix.

The fight saw Paul, 27, defeat Tyson, 58, by unanimous decision. Tyson landed 18 punches during the 8-round fight, while Paul connected 78 blows in the match.
