Two women from very different worlds end up entangled in each other’s lives in the first teaser trailer for Beauty in Black.
Netflix released the preview video on Thursday, Sept. 12, for Tyler Perry’s first series with the streamer.
The drama follows a stripper named Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams), who was just kicked out of her house by her mother; and Mallory (Crystle Stewart) a wealthy businesswoman from a cosmetics dynasty.
“Her family owns all this. I wonder what her life is like,” says as Kimmie.
Meanwhile, Mallory is shown decked out in a power suit and stepping into a chauffeured car.
Things get scandalous when the women’s lives end up intersecting.

Additional cast members include Richard Lawson, Debbi Morgan, Amber Reign Smith, Ricco Ross, Terrell Carter, Shannon Wallace, and Bryan Tanaka.
Tyler Perry created the series, directs, writes and executive produces.
Producers include Will Areu, Angi Bones, and Tony L. Strickland for Tyler Perry Studios.
Perry signed a TV production deal with Netflix in February with Black in Beauty as one of the first series to get the green light.
The filmmaker previously signed a first-look, multi-year movie deal in October 2023 with the streaming company.
The first part of Beauty in Black is a total of eight hour-long episodes and will premiere on Netflix Oct. 24.
A release date for the other eight episodes or part 2 has yet to be announced by Netflix or Perry.
