TLC is adding to its 1000-lb franchise with 1000-lb Roomies.
The new series premieres in June, and follows Roommates Jasmine aka “Jaz” and Nesha, who met online and became close friends.
“1000-lb Roomies is a perfect addition to TLC’s lineup, as we continue to showcase incredible transformational journeys,” Alon Orstein, TLC’s senior vice president of production and development, said in the statement.
In the trailer for the series, Jaz and Nesha declare their love of food.
“The only thing we love more than food in this world is my daughter,” Jaz says.
“We’re both a little extra, nearly a thousand pounds extra,” Nesha says jokingly.

Jaz says the two have tried everything to lose weight, but nothing seems to work. They decide to make lifestyle changes and jump-start their wellness journey.
At one point, Jaz reveals she’s turned to weight loss shots.
“I don’t like that shot!” an elderly relative tells her as the family dines on fried foods and dinner rolls.
Moments later, a tearful Jaz cries because of health problems. “I am in so much pain,” she says.
Jaz is taken away in an ambulance although it’s unclear why.
“I don’t know what happened to her, but I know that it’s a wakeup call,” a frightened Nesha says.
A doctor recommends weight loss surgery, telling Jaz she needs to start dropping pounds quickly.
“If Jasmine doesn’t undergo the surgery, most likely she will not survive for long,” the doctor warns.
But Jaz has concerns. “Surgery is something that scares the f–k out of me,” she admits. Jaz is shown being prepped for surgery.
“1000-lb Roomies premieres Tuesday, June 10 at 10pm ET/PT on TLC.
