Tamar Braxton has revealed she’ll only appear on her family’s upcoming reality series, The Braxtons, as a “friend.”

The Grammy-nominated singer was a breakout star on WE tv’s Braxton Family Values, which premiered in 2011 and ran for seven seasons.

But Tamar said she had zero interest in returning for the reboot.

“I was like, ‘Hell no, that’s not happening! They’ll have to do it without me,'” she said during a recent live taping of Carlos King’s “Reality With The King” podcast.

King, who’s a longtime reality TV producer, shadily compared the singer-songwriter to Real Housewives of Atlanta alum — and perennial friend — Marlo Hampton.

“[Call me] Marlo Braxton Brown,” Tamar said sarcastically. “I don’t have no peach, I don’t want a peach.”

She went on to say she agreed to join The Braxtons because it was important to her late sister, Traci Braxton, who died in March 2022.

“This is something that Traci wanted us to do. During her final days, this was something that became important to her,” Tamar said, adding: “My mother asked me to come back because she wanted the remaining of her daughters to finish a show that was so important, not to just this community, but to her as a mother.”

According to Tamar, when the family signed on for the original reality show, the contract was “completely unfair.”

This time around, she said she’s getting a “real” producer credit, a production deal for future shows, and a sizable paycheck.

“They gave me all of my things that I deserved during the first round — cha-ching,” she shared.

WE tv announced The Braxtons in February, saying the “raw and unfiltered” series will follow Toni, Towanda, Trina, Tamar and Ms. Evelyn Braxton.

The network said the hour-long episodes will show the family members spending time together, sharing details on their love lives, successes, heartbreak, and careers.

Toni, Tamar, Trina, Towanda and Evelyn Braxton are all executive producers on the reboot. A premiere date will be announced later.

Tamar is no stranger to reality TV. She’s appeared on CBS’ Celebrity Big Brother, VH1’s The Surreal Life, Peacock’s Queen’s Court and WE tv’s Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life!

But she told King she turned down a chance to join RHOA.

“It’s just no way I’m going to sit and get a wig put on and get my face beat to argue with a bunch of bi—es about nothing,” she said about the Bravo series. “I can’t do it. What does that do for me in my life? What’s the argument [about?] All money ain’t good money.”

Instead, she plans to develop a new project with King.
