Suits is officially coming to the West Coast.
NBC announced Friday, a Los Angeles-set spinoff of the legal drama has been given a series order after the pilot was filmed earlier this year.
Suits: LA introduces a fresh cast and moves the action from New York to the West Coast, with Stephen Amell (shown above) leading the cast as Ted Black.
According to the official description, Black is a former federal prosecutor from New York, who has “reinvented himself, representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.” As his firm faces a crisis, Black is forced to compromise his personal beliefs to survive.
Earlier this year, Lex Scott Davis (Unbreak My Heart) was cast after the pilot was announced, joining Josh McDermitt who plays Rick Dodsen, Black’s protégé.

This spinoff comes after the successful streaming debut of the original Suits series, which shattered viewing records when it debuted on Netflix in June 2023.
Suits aired on USA from June 2011 to September 2019. The series starred Gabriel Macht (“Harvey Specter”), Gina Torres (“Jessica Pearson”), Patrick J. Adams (“Mike Ross”), Meghan Markle (“Rachel Zane”), Rick Hoffman (“Louis Litt”), and Sarah Rafferty (“Donna Paulsen”).
In 2019, Suits alum Gina Torres starred in her own spinoff, Pearson, reprising her role as attorney Jessica Pearson after leaving the original series in 2016. The show premiered in July 2019 on USA Network and ran for one 10-episode season before being canceled.
Suits creator Aaron Korsh wrote and executive produced the new pilot. Other executive producers include David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein. Victoria Mahoney directs and co-executive produces.
Suits: LA is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group. A premiere date for the new series will be announced later.
