Ricarlo Flanagan Dies: ‘Shameless’ Actor and ‘Last Comic Standing’ Contestant Was 40

Shameless actor and Last Comic Standing semifinalist Ricarlo Flanagan has died. He was 40 years old.

“Ricarlo was one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life and a joy to work for. He will be missed dearly,” his agent Stu Golfman of KMR Talent told Deadline in a statement Tuesday.

Although a cause of death has not been officially confirmed, the actor shared on Twitter earlier this month that he had contracted COVID-19.

This covid is no joke. I don’t wish this on anybody,” he tweeted on Oct. 1.

The comedian appeared on Last Comic Standing in 2015. In addition to the NBC comedy competition and Shameless, he was known for his role on the Disney+ series Walk the Prank, and also for guest starring on The Mick, The Carmichael Show, Insecure, The Neighborhood, Mad About You, Kidding and Room 104.

Flanagan was also a rapper who had released three albums under his rap name Father Flanagan. His fourth album “Both Sides Of The Brain” was scheduled for release Tuesday.

His family started a GoFundMe page to transport Flanagan’s body to his final resting place in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.

The page described him as “a loving son, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend with many amazing talents. He brought laughter to every room he walked in.”

No details have been announced on a public memorial service.
