‘One of Them Days’ Starring Keke Palmer and SZA Gets New Release Date – Here’s Why

One of Them Days is on the move after Sony Pictures opted to release the buddy comedy earlier than originally announced.

The film starring Emmy winner Keke Palmer and Grammy winner SZA was previously scheduled to arrive in theaters on Jan. 24, 2025.

Now, the comedy will open on Jan. 17, 2025, according to Variety. A source told the outlet the studio made the scheduling change to take advantage of the four-day Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.

In the film, Palmer and SZA play roommates in Los Angeles, who are racing against the clock to raise rent money before they get evicted.

The pair live in a rundown apartment and don’t have steady work. Their landlord wants his rent money now, but roomies Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) don’t have it. They head over to a payday loan business, but Katt Williams is outside and warns them “it’s a trap.”

The cast also includes Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Maude Apatow, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, and Patrick Cage.

The film is directed by Lawrence Lamont from a script written by Syreeta Singleton.

Producers include Issa Rae, Deniese Davis, Sara Rastogi, James Lopez, and Poppy Hanks. Keke Palmer, Sharon Palmer, Jeff Valeri, and Charles D. King are all executive producers.

The comedy marks SZA’s first film role. Meantime, Palmer is known to audiences for her roles in the movies Nope, Alice, and Hustlers.

One of Them Days arrives in theaters on Jan. 17, 2025.
