Keke Palmer and SZA race against the clock to raise rent money in the trailer for the upcoming film One of Them Days.
The multi-hyphenates play “broke” roommates Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA), in the buddy comedy from producer Issa Rae.
The newly released trailer follows the pair living in a rundown apartment in Los Angeles. The place is falling apart, but the landlord wants his rent money now and they don’t have it.
Dreux is hoping a new corporate job will eventually help with their financial woes. But for now, they have a more pressing problem — paying this month’s rent.
“How we gone make $1,500 by six, not to mention I got the interview at four,” Dreux says.

They head over to a payday loan business, but Katt Williams happens to be in the neighborhood and warns them “it’s a trap.”
“If you don’t have the money this month, you’re not gonna have it next month,” he says.
The cast also includes Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Maude Apatow, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, and Patrick Cage.
The film is directed by Lawrence Lamont from a script written by Syreeta Singleton.
In addition to Issa Rae, producers include Deniese Davis, Sara Rastogi, James Lopez, and Poppy Hanks.
Keke Palmer, Sharon Palmer, Jeff Valeri, and Charles D. King are all executive producers.
The buddy comedy — which brings back memories of Ice Cube and Chris Tucker’s hijinks in Friday — serves as SZA’s feature film acting debut.
SZA and Palmer previously appeared together on a December 2022 episode of Saturday Night Live.
They’ll be teaming up again when One of Them Days arrives in theaters on Jan. 24, 2025.
