R&B singer and actor Ne-Yo will be back on TV screens in the upcoming psychological thriller, Held Hostage in My House.
The film, formerly titled Blunt, has been acquired by Lifetime, the cable network announced this week in a press release.
In addition to Ne-Yo, the cast includes Amy Smart (Starship Troopers), Matt Davis (Legally Blonde), Billy Zane (Devil On Campus: The Larry Ray Story), and Greer Grammer (Awkward).

The film tells the story of a single mother (Smart), who is entrapped at her vacation rental and must piece together clues to find out the identity of her assailant.
The woman wakes up to find herself hogtied and held captive at her country vacation rental. In a race against time, she must piece together clues about previous guests to find out who assaulted her, and hopefully survive the ordeal, according to the official description.
The film comes from Voltage Pictures, which began shopping the project in 2022, according to Deadline.
The thriller is written and directed by Anna Elizabeth James. Her previous film, Deadly Illusions, also a thriller was No. 1 worldwide for eight days upon release on Netflix in 2021.
“Deadly Illusions deservedly earned cult status, becoming one of the biggest streaming hits of 2021, so we’re thrilled to be back in business with the very talented Anna,” Voltage President and COO Jonathan Deckter told Deadline. “She’s written another tense and taut thriller with twists and turns that are sure to satisfy her growing fan base.”
Grammy award-winning artist Ne-Yo’s film and television credits include Empire, Stomp the Yard, Save the Last Dance, Battle: Los Angeles, George Lucas’ Red Tails, The Wiz Live! and Starz’ Step Up.
Held Hostage in My House is set to premiere Sept. 7 at 8p/7c on Lifetime.
