Taye Diggs and Meagan Good are teaming up to both star in and executive produce the upcoming Lifetime movie Terry McMillan Presents: Forever.
Lifetime recently acquired the indie film originally titled Forever, to join its Terry McMillan Presents banner, the network said in a press release Monday.
The drama centers on Johnnie (played by Diggs), who returns home from military service only to be met with divorce papers. He then starts to fall for local police officer Carlie (Good) after she stops him for a speeding.
As Johnnie tries to win over Carlie, he must first win over her three daughters. He also has to let go of old fears and regret he’s held onto in order to find the true meaning of family.
Charles Murray (Outer Range and Luke Cage) directs the film from a script written by Bart Baker.

Forever marks the second movie under the author’s previously announced partnership with Lifetime, which also includes Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted By Love starring and executive produced by Garcelle Beauvais.
The two Lifetime movies fall under the author’s deal with the network to executive produce original movies centering on the love and lives of African American women.
McMillan is best known for her novels-turned-films, Waiting to Exhale (1995) and How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998).
Diggs got his big break opposite Angela Bassett in How Stella Got Her Groove Back, which was based on McMillan’s popular novel.
Terry McMillan Presents: Forever is produced by The Ninth House in association with GroupM Motion Entertainment. Charles Murray, Richard Foster and Chet Fenster are executive producers. Emmy-winning producer Shelby Stone, Autumn Federici and Jake Helgren serve as producers.
Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted by Love premieres Saturday, Aug. 17 at 8/7c.
The following weekend, Terry McMillan Presents: Forever premieres Saturday, Aug. 24 at 8/7c.
