Danger follows Michael B. Jordan in the trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair.
The Oscar-winning actor leads the cast of the heist thriller as infamous art thief Thomas Crown.
Amazon MGM Studios released the first trailer Wednesday, showing Jordan pulling off daring stunts and casually strolling out of a museum.
“I’ve been taking risks my entire life. But last night it was different,” he says in a voiceover. “I felt alive. My heart was racing. Every step was part of a plan. Things slowed down. It was silent. And I was surprised how easy it was. But I’m not finished yet.”
The video teases a game of cat and mouse as Thomas Crown plans elaborate thefts and finds himself drawn to an investigator played by Adria Arjona.
The cast also includes Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh, alongside Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, and Pilou Asbæk.
The upcoming film is a reimagining of the classic 1968 original of the same name starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. It was followed by a 1999 remake led by Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
Jordan does triple duty on this latest adaptation, by acting, producing and directing the film from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Jason Hall.
Additional producers include Elizabeth Raposo, Marc Toberoff, Patrick McCormick, and Charles Roven. Grammy and Oscar winner Jon Batiste composed the film’s music.
The first footage of the thriller was shown in April during Amazon MGM’s presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
“I’ve been daydreaming about making this movie for years,” Jordan told attendees, adding that he was inspired after watching the 1999 remake when he was 12 years old. He later watched the 1968 film, which left him in awe of the main character.
“He didn’t just steal, he was making a statement,” the actor said.
The Thomas Crown Affair is scheduled to arrive in theaters nationwide on March 5, 2027.
