After previously getting shelved, the Jonathan Majors bodybuilding film Magazine Dreams now has a release date.
The acclaimed drama will arrive in theaters on March 21, 2025, according to a Wednesday article from The Hollywood Reporter.
Briarcliff Entertainment is bringing the film to audiences. The new release date comes after original distributor, Disney’s Searchlight Pictures, removed the film from the calendar in October 2023, amid Majors’ legal troubles after he was arrested for assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

Elijah Bynum wrote and directed Magazine Dreams, which stars Majors as amateur bodybuilder Killian Maddox.
According to the official description, Killian is troubled, has a volatile temper, and struggles to read social cues. But “nothing deters him from his fiercely protected dream of bodybuilding superstardom, not even the doctors who warn that he’s causing permanent damage to his body with his quest.”
The drama wowed audiences at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2023, and won the festival’s Creative Vision Jury Award.
Weeks later, Majors was arrested in March 2023. His attorney Priya Chaudhry said at the time the actor did “nothing wrong,” and alleged that he was assaulted by Jabbari during a scuffle on a New York City street.
In December 2023, Majors was convicted on misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment.
He was set to star in the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as supervillain Kang the Conqueror. Instead, Marvel cut ties with him shortly after the verdict was handed down.
Majors is now in the midst of rebuilding his career.
In June, it was announced that he had lined up a role in the supernatural revenge thriller Merciless from director Martin Villeneuve.
