Colman Domingo dished about his character on HBO’s Euphoria during an appearance on Wednesday’s edition of Watch What Happens Live.

An audience member asked virtually if fans would be seeing Domingo on season 3 as his character “Ali.”

“I will be returning to season 3 of Euphoria,” the actor said on the streaming talk show. “We’ll get that started early next year.”

Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen then chimed in by referencing the work Domingo and series star Zendaya have done together on the show, saying, “The two of you together are great.”

“I love working with Zendaya, she’s wonderful,” the actor added.

Domingo’s character Ali, is a man recovering from drug addiction who is also a sponsor and mentor to Zendaya’s “Rue” — who is a recovering drug addict in the drama about a group of high school students navigating love and friendship in a world of drugs, sex, trauma, and social media.

Domingo received an Emmy Award in 2022 for outstanding guest actor in a drama series for his performance on the series.

After Euphoria’s filming of season 3 was pushed back because of last year’s Hollywood strikes and the July 2023 death of Angus Cloud, Deadline reported a few weeks ago that HBO announced production would resume in 2025.

During their off time, the Euphoria cast which also includes Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Sydney Sweeney, and Storm Reid, have all been busy with major film projects.

Domingo was nominated for a best actor Oscar for his performance in the Netflix film Rustin, and also picked up two NAACP Image Awards — one for Rustin and a second for his supporting role as Mister in The Color Purple.

Euphoria is an American adaptation of an Israeli show by the same name. It’s created and written by Sam Levinson (Assassination Nation).

Rapper Drake and his manager Future the Prince, real name Adel Nur, serve as executive producers.
