Starz unveiled the premiere date and trailer on Friday, for season 2 of crime series BMF — ahead of the show’s Jan. 6 return.
The video shows Detroit’s Flenory brothers — Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory — in the late 1980s as money rolls in and they rise to icon status in the drug world.
“We pool our resources and take over the nation,” Meech (played by Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr.) says in the trailer.

The BMF crew sets their sights on Cleveland, St. Louis, Atlanta and Los Angeles, but Terry has second thoughts.
“I already told you, I’m out!” Terry tells his brother.
Their parents are conflicted and dad Charles (played by Russell Hornsby) says to Terry, “Learn how to be a real man by making an honest living.”

The season 2 cast includes Michole Briana White (Lucille Flenory), Myles Truitt (B-Mickie), La La Anthony (Markisha), Snoop Dogg (Pastor Swift), Rayan Lawrence (K-9), Mo’Nique (Goldie), Leslie Jones (Special Agent in Charge Tracy Chambers), Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee (Deanna Washington), Christine Horn (Mabel Jones), Sydney Mitchell (LaWanda), and Serayah (Lori).

The series is based on the true story of the Flenory brothers who joined forces to create Black Mafia Family, one of the most prominent drug trafficking organizations in the U.S.
Season 2 explores the brothers’ complicated relationships with their parents and each other, and the violence gripping Detroit in the 1980s.
Detroit native Randy Huggins created the series and serves as showrunner, executive producer and writer.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson executive produces through his G-Unit Film and Television in association with Lionsgate Television for Starz. Heather Zuhlke, Anthony Wilson and Anne Clements also serve as executive producers. Costume designer Keia Bounds transports the cast back into time with the fashion of the ’80s and the soundtrack comes from Derryck (Big Tank) Thornton.
Season 2 of BMF premieres Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at midnight on the Starz app, all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms and on the Lionsgate+ premium streaming platform in the UK and Brazil. On television, the series debuts the same day at 8:00 PM ET/PT in the U.S. and Canada on Starz.
