BET Her is set to air #SayHerName, Justice For Breonna Taylor, a special produced by six-time NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving, the network announced Monday.
Taylor, a 26-year-old EMT, was shot and killed on March 13, 2020, by Louisville police officers who forced their way into her apartment with a no-knock warrant. Five months later, the officers responsible for her death have still not been arrested.
The one-hour broadcast will look at the importance of movements like #SayHerName and examine how Taylor’s death highlights the lack of awareness around Black female victims of police brutality.
“It is critical to magnify how Black women are, tragically, also subject to lethal police brutality, and we must demand that Breonna Taylor’s killers are brought to justice,” BET President Scott Mills said in a press release. “We are committed to utilizing our platforms to drive awareness and sustainable impact.”

Additionally, the special will provide viewers with information on steps they can take to call for #JusticeForBreonnaTaylor.
