Cardi B says it’s time for political change and Joe Biden may be the answer.
Biden is preparing for his big speech Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention, where he will officially accept the party’s nomination for president. Before his big night, he sat down for a chat with rapper Cardi B for Elle magazine.
The two started things out with Biden introducing the hip-hop star to his daughter Ashley, whom he stated is a big fan of Cardi B’s music. After the pleasantries, the rapper launched into politics.
“I have a whole list of things that I want our next president to do for us, but first, I just want Trump out,” she said. “His mouth gets us in trouble so much.”

She shared that for her, the most important thing is to have a president who is fair, and is looking out for the Black community and others who have been marginalized over the course of history.
Biden told her he hopes to help guide a new era of change.
“There’s no reason why we can’t have all of that. Presidents have to take responsibility,” Biden said. “I understand one of your favorite presidents is Franklin Roosevelt. Roosevelt said the American people can take anything if you tell them the truth.”
The former vice president also jokingly shared that his nickname is “Joey B.”
Although Biden has a long tenure in politics, he made sure to praise Cardi for her grassroots efforts in helping to inspire and engage the next generation of voters.
“One of the things that I admire about you is that you keep talking about what I call equity — decency, fairness, and treating people with respect,” Biden said.
