Zoe Saldaña awed and shocked at the 2025 BAFTA awards on Sunday night.

Wearing a Saint Laurent strapless black gown, a large diamond necklace and rings, Saldaña got a bit excited when she accepted the best supporting actress award from Colman Domingo and British actor Adam Pearson.

The honor was for her performance in the transgender musical crime saga Emilia Pérez.

But as her speech wound down, Saldaña ran out of time to thank everyone on her list, resulting in a stream of F-bombs.

“Oh my God, I’m getting a countdown,” she said, punctuating the statement with “F–k, f–k, f–k” during the live broadcast on BBC One

“I was told not to cry by my children, so I’ll try,” she said. “This is so validating and a true honor, because the very few times that I went for a part with a British accent or dialect coach, I was like, ‘This is not going to happen for you.’ Even though I have a lot of British friends, I find myself repeating all their phrases, and I know that I’m a pain in the ass.”

The actress thanked the film’s cast and crew, and also saluted a transgender nephew.

“He is the reason — they are the reason — I signed up to do this film in the first place,” she said. “So as the proud aunt of a trans life, I will always stand with my community of trans people.”

Saldaña won her first Golden Globe Award last month, taking home the best supporting actress in a motion picture trophy for her role in Emilia Pérez. She’s also nominated for an Oscar.

In addition to the acclaimed film, she stars in the streaming TV show Lioness and has a role in the Avatar movie franchise.

The British Academy Film Awards, more commonly known as the BAFTA, is an annual award show hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. It honors British and international contributions to film.
