Zoë Kravitz Lands Catwoman Role in Warner Bros. ‘The Batman’

Zoë Kravitz has been cast as Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, in the upcoming Warner Bros. film The Batman.

The actress will star opposite Robert Pattinson, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The publication said Kravitz underwent “rigorous testing” to land the coveted part.

Pattinson of Twilight fame is taking over as the Caped Crusader from Ben Affleck, who moved on after playing the crime fighter in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Jeffrey Wright also has a role in the film. Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes) is directing.

Catwoman is a Gotham City burglar and superhero in the DC Comics world. The role has previously been played on the big screen by Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The late Eartha Kitt played Catwoman on the Batman TV series in the 1960s.

Kravitz most recently appeared in the award-winning HBO drama Big Little Lies.

The Batman will open on June 25, 2021.
