Wendy Williams broke down Thursday on the season finale of her daytime talk show.
The Wendy Williams Show host began to cry while reflecting on the challenges she’s faced in her personal life over the past year.
“This season has been, well, hell for me, in a weird way,” Williams said through tears.
But she noted that work has helped her get through the drama, including filing for divorce from her husband Kevin Hunter, reports that Hunter fathered a child with another woman, and tearfully revealing she was living in a sober house.
“I appreciate doing this show because it’s my one hour when I get to be fun and forget about stuff. You’ve seen me pass out this season, you’ve read in tabloids and the paparazzi and all that. But through it all, my one joy — aside from my son and my family — is you,” Williams told her studio audience.

The media personality also hinted at retiring in the future, but said her show will be back for an eleventh season in the fall.
“I’m not doing this show forever, but I certainly will be back for season 11,” she said. “A lot of people didn’t think we could do it, but we did it!”
The show’s social media team also posted a picture on Instagram of Williams on set to mark the end of the season.
“That’s a wrap! Season 10 is over! We will be back LIVE starting September 16,” the post said.
Last week, Lifetime announced it was moving forward with a TV movie about Williams’ life.
The project will reveal “the highs and lows she has experienced throughout the years,” the cable network said. Williams will serve as an executive producer on the biopic from Will Packer Media.
