Vernee Watson-Johnson and Daphne Maxwell Reid will reunite on an upcoming episode of Peacock’s drama series Bel-Air

The re-imagined, dramatic reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air welcomes the actresses for its March 24 episode, the streaming platform said in a press release Monday.

Maxwell Reid (Frank’s Place, Snoops) will play Helen and Watson-Johnson (General Hospital, Bob Hearts Abishola) will play Janice, members of the Art Council Board of Trustee.

The new series came about after Bel-Air director, co-writer and executive producer Morgan Cooper produced a reimagined dramatic trailer of the series and uploaded it to YouTube in 2019. After it went viral, he was contacted about bringing the grittier backstory of the Fresh Prince to life.

Will Smith serves as an executive producer alongside Terence Carter, James Lassiter, Miguel Melendez, Malcolm Spellman, Quincy Jones, Benny Medina, and Andy & Susan Borowitz.

T.J. Brady and Rasheed Newson are co-showrunners and executive producers. Peacock ordered two seasons of the series before the first season started streaming. Bel-Air‘s first season premiered on Feb. 13, and is currently streaming on Peacock.
