Gabrielle Union’s fans are criticizing America’s Got Talent host Terry Crews for his “lame” response to her exit from the NBC series.
Amid public outcry over her firing after expressing concerns about the alleged “toxic” culture at the show, Union tweeted a message thanking fans and Hollywood insiders for their support.

“So many tears, so much gratitude,” the Being Mary Jane actress wrote. “Thank you! Just when you feel lost, adrift, alone… you got me up off the ground. Humbled and thankful, forever.”
Crews replied to the tweet, “You’re the best, Gabrielle! You will be missed!”

Some social media users called the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor’s response “disappointing,” especially after Union publicly supported him in 2017 when he revealed he’d been sexually assaulted.
“This is disappointing Terry,” one fan tweeted. “She stood up for you when you needed it and this is how you repay her?”
“She had your back and yet you can’t have hers?” another person wrote.
“Come on Terry, you know this ain’t right,” someone else tweeted. “Gabby spoke out and potentially damaged some of her own professional relationship [sic] to support you when you wanted, desired support and all you can say is tantamount to ‘sorry, sucks to be you?’”
“Lame. And sad,” another person shared.
Someone else replied, “Yeah, he’s still gotta collect a check from the show, but this feels like weak sauce.”

News broke on Nov. 23 that Union and fellow AGT judge Julianne Hough would not be returning to the series for season 15.
Judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Crews are all expected back next season.
Cowell co-created America’s Got Talent and also serves as a producer. His company Syco Entertainment, NBC and production company Fremantle released a joint statement on Sunday, Dec. 1 saying they are “working with Ms. Union through her representatives to hear more about her concerns.”
Union is reportedly scheduled to meet with NBC brass this week to discuss what really happened and why she was let go from AGT. According to published reports, an offer to bring her back will not be on the table at the meeting.
