One month after Claudia Jordan confirmed Tea-G-I-F would not be returning to Fox Soul, Jordan has revealed she’s working on a reboot of the streaming talk show.

Jordan, who created the program and served as moderator, recently spoke with Urban Hollywood 411 about her experience on the BET+ reality series College Hill: Celebrity Edition.

At the end of the conversation, the actress and talk show host revealed she’s in the process of developing a new iteration of Tea-G-I-F, as well as reviving Fox Soul’s Cocktails With Queens.

“I’m in talks,” Jordan said. “I’ve been reaching out to other networks about doing a hot topic show and also trying to bring back Cocktails with Queens.”

Jordan noted that after recent political events, including Vice President Kamala Harris entering the presidential race and the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, fans frequently tell her they’d like to see a panel show focusing on politics and issues important to the Black community.

“I cannot tell you the amount of people that are reaching out to me every day, that’s like, ‘I wish I knew your thoughts on what happened today and the assassination attempt, and Kamala, and the fundraising,'” Jordan said. “So I might just hop on live with a few people. Maybe on Mondays, just pick a time and just get back in the rhythm of things. Because I do miss, it’s been about a month since I haven’t been doing [Tea-G-I-F]. The culture really needs it.”

Tea-G-I-F launched as a weekly show with Jordan hosting along with Funky Dineva and Al Reynolds. The show expanded to five nights a week in 2023.

Last month, Jordan confirmed in a social media post that the show would not return after taking a brief break.

While she said she “tried” to save the show, the decision was handed down amid disputes between the three hosts — Jordan, Reynolds, and celebrity gossip YouTuber Armon Wiggins, who joined the show after Funky Dineva left.

During a recent appearance on Carlos King’s “Reality With The King” podcast in July, Jordan admitted the situation between the Tea-G-I-F co-hosts reached a boiling point in June during a televised birthday roast of Reynolds.

As for what a revamped Tea-G-I-F would look like, Jordan told Urban Hollywood 411 there will be new co-hosts.

“I want to bring it back in a different way. It will not be the same cast. I am good at putting a good cast together, because the original cast, I captured it. I created the show. And I know how to put the right people together. So when I [executive produce], this thing, it is going to be done right,” she explained.

Jordan also said all four original hosts of the female-centric Cocktails with Queens are “on board” to relaunch the show after it ended in June 2023, because of programming and leadership changes at Fox Soul, as Urban Hollywood 411 exclusively reported.

She hosted the show alongside Vivica A. Fox, Syleena Johnson, and LisaRaye McCoy. She said all four women are eager to work together again.

“All four of us are on board. We never had any issues,” she explained. “We love each other… Everybody wants to see a comeback.”
