Michael Che has a message for politicians who turn to hip-hop stars for help reaching African American voters  — “rappers are not Black leaders.”

The Saturday Night Live star made the comment while calling out President Trump, Lil Wayne and Ice Cube on the Oct. 31 Weekend Update segment.

“Lil Wayne met with President Trump this week to discuss Trump’s FUBU Platinum Plan for the Black community — I don’t actually know what it’s called,” Che quipped after comparing Trump’s plan for Black America to hip-hop clothing line FUBU.

Che then mocked New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne for drinking and rapping about “Sizzurp.”

“Many are surprised by Lil Wayne’s endorsements of Trump, but keep in mind Lil Wayne puts cough syrup in his Sprite, so grain of salt,” he said. “It’s weird that I have to tell politicians rappers are not Black leaders. They’re just rappers. Stop negotiating with them. They only do this with Black people. I never saw a candidate talking to Gilbert Gottfried about what to do in Israel. That would be insulting, right?”

He directed his attention to Ice Cube, who also recently had a conversation with Trump about the Platinum Plan.

“I love Ice Cube, but you know how many jobs he has on top of negotiating for Black people?” Che pondered. “You know why Malcolm [X] and Martin [Luther King] were such great leaders? Because they weren’t also working on Barbershop 4.”

Both Ice Cube and Lil Wayne have faced criticism for meeting with Trump and seemingly endorsing his reelection bid.

Weezy, real name Dwayne Carter, shared a picture of himself with Trump on Oct. 29.

“Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership,” the rapper tweeted. “He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”
