The Talk co-hosts Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood got into a heated discussion after Osbourne came to the defense of her “friend” Piers Morgan and his criticism of Meghan Markle.

Wednesday’s on-air drama started when Underwood asked Osbourne, “What would you say to people who feel that while you’re standing by your friend, it appears that you give validation or safe haven to something that he’s uttered that is racist? Even if you don’t agree with it.”

Osbourne responded, “I don’t know what he’s uttered that’s racist. I’m not trying to slide out of this one, I don’t know—tell me. What has he uttered that’s racist?”

Things took a turn when the 68-year-old British TV personality became defensive and asked why people are calling her a racist. She raised her voice and said, “And I think we should stop this f–king,” before she was muted by production and Underwood tossed to break.

“I will ask you again Sheryl. I’ve been asking you during the break, I’m asking you again. And don’t try and cry, because if anyone should be crying, it should be me,” Osbourne said as she pointed her finger at Underwood. “This is the situation, you tell me where you have heard him say—educate me, tell me—when you have heard him say racist things. Educate me! Tell me!”

Underwood calmly responded, “It is not the exact words of racism. It’s the implication and the reaction to it. To not want to address that because she is a Black woman, and to try to dismiss it, or to make it seem less than what it is, that’s what makes it racist. But right now I am talking to a woman who I believe is my friend, and I don’t want anybody here to watch this and think we’re attacking you for being racist.”

“I think it’s too late, I think that seed’s already sown,” Osbourne countered.

As the clip went viral, social media users slammed Osbourne and accused her of gaslighting.

@SharSaysSo tweeted: “No one should be surprised by Sharon Osbourne’s behavior. She has been consistently loud in her willful stupidity (about race) throughout the years. The public gaslighting might be a new lil twist tho.”

@josecanyousee wrote: “Sharon Osbourne pretends she didn’t know the racist stuff her racist friend said and then demands Sheryl Underwood spell it out for her in a disrespectful and entitled tone? Sharon is out of her ever loving Mad Hatter-looking mind.”

@ainosminako tweeted: “Sharon Osbourne’s aggression towards Sheryl Underwood on The Talk needs more attention.”

On Tuesday, Morgan stormed off the set of Good Morning Britain and hours later exited the show for good amid complaints about his treatment of Markle.

In response, Osbourne tweeted: “.@piersmorgan I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth.”

Osbourne’s co-hosts wanted to know why she defended Morgan. Watch the clip from The Talk below.
