‘Saturday Night Live’ Sets Season 47 Premiere Date and Guest Lineup

Saturday Night Live is kicking off its 47th season in October with a new lineup of hosts and musical guests.

The NBC sketch comedy series announced this week, Loki actor Owen Wilson will host the premiere episode and singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves has been booked as the night’s musical guest.

The new season is starting off with four consecutive live shows and each one will feature a first-time host.

After Disney+ star Owen Wilson, Kim Kardashian West will host SNL on Oct. 9. The reality TV personality will be joined by electropop singer Halsey as the musical guest. This marks Halsey’s fourth appearance on SNL.

A week later, Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek makes his hosting debut on Oct. 15. Alongside Malek, award winning rapper Young Thug makes his first appearance on SNL as the headlining artist. Malek stars in the upcoming installment in the James Bond series, No Time to Die, and Young Thug’s next album, PUNK, comes out the night before his appearance.

And then finally, former SNL cast member Jason Sudeikis will host on Oct. 23, with singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile. Sudeikis, who co-created sports comedy Ted Lasso, just won two Emmys for his work on the Apple TV+ series.

Saturday Night Live continues to enjoy its long lived run which spans across multiple decades. The show was the number one entertainment program last season and won eight Emmy Awards this year, including Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.

The 47th season premieres Oct. 2, on NBC at 11:30 pm ET/8:30pm PT, and will be livestreamed on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s video streaming service. Every single season of SNL can be watched there.
