The 27th SAG Awards aired Sunday night in a pre-recorded simulcast on TBS and TNT. Among the winners, Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman won the leading actress and actor honors for their performances in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted the award on Boseman’s behalf and quoted him in her speech. “If you see the world unbalanced, be a crusader that pushes heavily on the seesaw of the mind,” she said. “That’s a quote by Chadwick Boseman.”
A legacy that continues to live on in our hearts and on our screens. Thank you, @chadwickboseman, for your lasting gift. #sagawards @MaRaineyFilmpic.twitter.com/0lnA6luxkS
