SAG Awards 2021 – Here Are All The Winners

SAG Awards 2021 Winners

The 27th SAG Awards aired Sunday night in a pre-recorded simulcast on TBS and TNT. Among the winners, Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman won the leading actress and actor honors for their performances in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted the award on Boseman’s behalf and quoted him in her speech. “If you see the world unbalanced, be a crusader that pushes heavily on the seesaw of the mind,” she said. “That’s a quote by Chadwick Boseman.”

The supporting actor honor went to Daniel Kaluuya for his performance in Judas and the Black Messiah, and Minari star Yuh-Jung Youn won in the supporting actress category. In her acceptance speech, the Korean actress said she was honored to be “recognized by Westerners.”

Aaron Sorkin’s historical drama The Trial of the Chicago 7 won the ensemble cast in a motion picture award, the equivalent of the best picture honor at the Oscars.

On the television side, The Crown picked up the ensemble cast in a drama series honor, and Schitt’s Creek won the ensemble cast in a comedy series award.

Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the SAG Awards were presented in a shortened hour-long format that was pre-recorded.
