Three weeks after ABC suddenly canceled Roseanne, the network announced Thursday it’s given a straight-to-series order to a spinoff without controversial star Roseanne Barr.

The new show is tentatively titled The Conners, and will premiere in the fall.

While Barr created the series, she will not have any ties to the rebooted sitcom.

“Roseanne Barr will have no financial or creative involvement in the new series,” ABC said in a press release.

The new show will feature Roseanne castmembers John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman. There will be 10 episodes, and it will air on Tuesday nights.

Barr said she agreed to relinquish her stake in the series to preserve the jobs of the rest of the cast and crew.

“I regret the circumstances that have caused me to be removed from Roseanne. I agreed to the settlement in order that 200 jobs of beloved cast and crew could be saved, and I wish the best for everyone involved,” she said in a statement.

ABC pulled the plug on Roseanne on May 29, after Barr posted a series of racially-charged tweets.

In one tweet, she compared former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to a cross between the Muslim Brotherhood and the movie Planet of the Apes.

That same day, the outspoken comedian lashed out at former first daughter Chelsea Clinton on Twitter, and called billionaire Democratic donor George Soros – who is Jewish – a “Nazi.”

Her comments caused a firestorm of criticism, and ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey made the move to end the series.

However, ABC and the show’s production company, Carsey Werner, continued to work behind the scenes to revive the show.

“We are grateful to have reached this agreement to keep our team working as we continue to explore stories of the Conner family,” executive producer Tom Werner said Thursday.

Additional casting details and the premiere date will be announced later.
