Ready to Love will give a new group of singles a shot at finding love in the Lone Star State for season 9.
The upcoming season debuts Jan. 12, and will see the reality dating series go to Forth Worth, Texas, for the first time, OWN announced Tuesday.
“You never know what might be coming around the corner next,” host Thomas “Nephew Tommy” Miles says in the teaser video for the upcoming season.
The series explores the real-life romantic rollercoasters of Black men and women in their 30s and 40s as they search for “meaningful” relationships. Although there’s always someone in the group searching for reality TV fame.

Each episode follows along as the couples attend brunches and mixers, and try out action-packed water activities. But it won’t always be smooth sailing, because they’ll have to navigate challenges thrown in by Nephew Tommy along the way.
The new group is made up of 20 professionals, ranging from a flight attendant looking to build a life of love on land, to an esthetician who hopes to connect with someone more than just on the surface, and a fashion stylist searching for a muse.
Per OWN, there will also be an early no-show, unexpected dismissals and “complicated love triangles.”
The series premiered in 2018, and previously stopped in Atlanta for two seasons, Miami, Washington, D.C. for two seasons, and Dallas.
Earlier this year, Urban Hollywood 411 asked Nephew Tommy if the show will ever travel to Los Angeles. The comedian said it would take serious “vetting” to weed out the actors.
“I would love to see how L.A. would do, that would be interesting,” he said. “And can we find 20 genuine singles who are looking for love? I think they’re there. I think there’s some people that want it. We’ve just got to do a lot of good vetting and make sure we don’t get some good actors, because I’ve been getting some good actors and we find out later, they really weren’t looking for love.”

The show is currently the #1 cable series in its time slot with key African American female demos on Friday nights.
The new season of Ready to Love premieres Friday, Jan. 12 at 8 PM ET/PT on OWN.
