Ray J, who for years was friends with Sean “Diddy” Combs, says he’s no longer “cool” with the embattled music mogul, who faces a growing number of sexual abuse allegations.
The R&B singer and reality star sat down for a wide-ranging interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast.

In the interview, posted on YouTube Wednesday, June 5, Ray J admitted to spending time with Diddy and his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
The “Sexy Can I” singer said he’s now cut ties with Diddy and offered his apologies to Cassie.
Asked his thoughts on the leaked surveillance video that showed the mogul kicking and dragging Cassie in 2016 at a Los Angeles hotel, Ray J said “it’s unforgivable.”
“It’s heartbreaking, man. Everybody messes up, but we can’t be cool after that,” he told Sharpe. “It’s unforgivable, it’s too much.”
The Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star admitted to his own bad behavior on reality TV and said he’s “trying to do better.”
Sharpe then asked him if Diddy will ever be able to reclaim his status as a larger-than-life figure in the entertainment world. Ray J answered by calling for the Bad Boy Records founder to be sentenced to corporal punishment.
“The homie needs a public whipping, that’s the only way it’s going to be right,” he said. “100 lashes.”
After thinking about it for a moment, Ray J said 100 lashes might not be enough. “A thousand lashes… that would help,” he said.

Ray J went on to encourage Diddy to disappear from the spotlight.
“You have to go on that journey on your own and find yourself and find forgiveness for yourself somewhere far away from where we are,” he said. “There’s no room for that here. There’s no room for that in this world that we’ve been working hard to get to, and to limit our mistakes, and to continue to build our respect.”
Diddy has so far been named in eight civil lawsuits since November, with seven of them accusing him of sexual assault and or rape.
The other suit accused him of aiding and abetting his son Christian Combs, who is alleged to have sexually assaulted a yacht stewardess on a boat his father chartered for a New Year’s Eve celebration in December 2022.
Both Diddy and Christian have denied all of the allegations.
In a statement in December, Diddy called the allegations against him “sickening” and insisted he was innocent.
“Enough is enough. For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy,” he said.
After CNN aired the hotel surveillance footage last month, he issued a public apology on May 19, saying he was “truly sorry” for attacking Cassie.
The mogul is also facing a federal investigation into sex trafficking allegations.
Last month, CNN quoted sources as saying the investigation had expanded to include “money laundering and illegal drugs.”
