There’s good news for Power Book III: Raising Kanan fans.
Starz just renewed the crime series for a fourth season, before season 3 even premieres.
The network made the announcement Tuesday, revealing production will begin on season 4 this week in New York.
“We’re thrilled to continue Kanan Stark’s story, and for fans to see how the events of his formative adolescent years continue to mold him into the cold-hearted villain they were first introduced to in Power,” Kathryn Busby, president of original programming for Starz, said in a press release.
“We are quite sure that after viewers see the battle lines being drawn between Raq and Kanan on this epic upcoming third season that they will demand more,” Busby added.

Set in Southside Jamaica, Queens in the 1990s, the Power prequel charts the early years of Kanan Stark — the character first played by franchise executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
MeKai Curtis now plays the titular role alongside Patina Miller as his drug-dealing mom Raquel “Raq” Thomas.
Season 3 picks up where the series left off, with the Thomas family in turmoil after the mob’s coordinated attack on Raq, Marvin and Lou-Lou. The third season also introduces new adversaries “Snaps” and “Pop,” played by Wendell Pierce (The Wire and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) and Erika Woods (Don’t Jump), as previously reported.
Lionsgate Television produces the series for Starz.
The drama is the second spinoff in the Power franchise. Sascha Penn serves as showrunner and executive producer for season 3. The series is also executive produced by Power creator and showrunner, Courtney A. Kemp, 50 Cent, and Mark Canton. Chris Selak, Kevin Fox, Santa Sierra, and Tash Grey also serve as executive producers.
Season 3 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan debuts Dec. 1.
New episodes will be available weekly on Fridays at midnight ET on the Starz app, and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms. On cable, the series airs at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT in the U.S. and Canada.
