Porsha Williams is a key player on The Real Housewives of Atlanta but according to Andy Cohen, she almost got cut from the show.
Cohen, who hosts Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live and is a producer on the Real Housewives franchise, made the revelation during a Jan. 31 appearance on The Jenny McCarthy Show on SiriusXM.
After being asked how producers decide which housewives to keep, Cohen spilled the tea.
“It’s a long conversation that goes on through the season and even during production,” he said. “At the end of Porsha’s first season, she was at the reunion and it had just been announced a day before Kordell [Stewart] was leaving her and there was a fairly healthy dialogue amongst the producers about whether Porsha was going to come back at that time.”

Porsha’s ex-husband, former NFL player Kordell Stewart, filed for divorce in 2013 on grounds that the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
According to Cohen, Porsha proved her value to producers during the RHOA reunion show.
“She got up there at that reunion and I was watching her and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I was like, ‘I stan for Porsha, that was incredible,’ and she cemented her place on the show,” he said. “She gave a two minute soliloquy about who she was and how she was going to live her life going forward and this was not going to define her and she’s stronger than this. I was like ‘I totally underestimated this woman.’”
In addition to starring on RHOA, Williams is one of the hosts of the nationally syndicated television show Dish Nation. She also appeared on the first season of The New Celebrity Apprentice.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sunday nights on Bravo.
