Nicole Ari Parker Joins ‘Sex and the City’ Reboot

Nicole Ari Parker is going high fashion for her new role in the HBO Max reboot of Sex and the City titled And Just Like That…

The actress will play Lisa Todd Wexley, a Park Avenue mother, according to HBO Max. Parker, whose previous credits include Chicago P.D. and Soul Food, is one of three recently-announced actresses to join returning stars  Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.

The other two newcomers to the series are Mississippi Masala breakout star Sarita Choudhury, who will play single and powerful real estate broker Seema Patel. Plus, The Morning Show’s Karen Pittman who will appear as Dr. Nya Wallace, a bright and outspoken Columbia Law professor.

As previously reported, Sara Ramírez also recently signed on to the cast as non-binary, queer, stand-up comedian named Che Diaz, who has a podcast Carrie regularly appears on.

One of the original four faces on Sex and the City will not be returning. Kim Cattrall (Samantha) will not be involved in the new project after a highly-publicized feud with SJP over the last several years.

HBO recently released first-look images of the main returning cast in their signature designer-clad looks. The reboot will feature the three women navigating New York in their 50s, taking all the lessons they learned about relationships in their 30s when the show first aired.

And Just Like That… has started production this summer and is expected to air either this fall or early 2022.
