Katt Williams will unleash more biting humor and Hollywood truths — in a new Netflix comedy special set to stream live in May.
The streaming giant announced details about the special on Wednesday, Feb. 7, saying it will take place in Inglewood, Calif., at the YouTube Theater.
The show is part of the upcoming “Netflix Is a Joke” comedy fest in Los Angeles from May 2-12, which will feature over 300 shows across more than 35 venues.
Chris Rock, Kevin Hart, Leslie Jones, Luenell, Wanda Sykes, Jon Stewart, Marlon Wayans, Tom Brady, and Trevor Noah, will also headline shows at the festival.
This will be Williams’ third stand-up special with the streaming service, after World War III and Great America.
The comedian performed at the inaugural “Netflix Is a Joke” fest at the Hollywood Palladium in 2022. We were there for Williams’ stand-up set when he mixed jokes with social commentary and roasted some of the world’s richest entertainers, including Dr. Dre, Jay-Z and Kanye West, now known as Ye.
“Kanye got a billion dollars and lost his b–h to a comedian that looks like a tall, pale corpse,” Williams said about former SNL comic Pete Davidson, who was dating Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian at the time.
This time, Williams will take the stage after making global headlines for his nearly three-hour interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast.
During the must-watch conversation, Williams unloaded on Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, Rickey Smiley, Kevin Hart, Ludacris, Jonathan Majors, and a slew of other Hollywood insiders. The interview dropped on Jan. 3, and has been viewed more than 57 million times.
The new Katt Williams Netflix special will likely be a hot ticket. The show streams live from the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, on May 4, 2024 at 7PM PT/10PM ET.
