The Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight made history for Netflix, despite frequent buffering, freezing, and jeers on social media.
The final tally is in and the boxing match, which unfolded live on Nov. 15, was streamed live by 108 million viewers worldwide.
Those numbers made the fight the “most streamed global sporting event ever,” Netflix said on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
According to data compiled by the streamer and analytics company TVision, the fight peaked at 65 million live concurrent streams, with a high of 38 million concurrent streams in the U.S. alone.

The fight was the No. 1 program in 78 countries including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, South Africa, the U.K., and the U.S for the week of Nov. 11-17.
In fact, TVision reports 56 percent of all U.S. TV viewing between 12am and 1am EST was people watching the matchup.
The fight saw Paul, 27, defeat Tyson, 58, by unanimous decision.
Tyson landed 18 punches during the 8-round fight, while Paul connected 78 blows in the one-sided match.

The Paul-Tyson fight wasn’t the only match on the card to make history that night.
The rematch between Amanda “Real Deal” Serrano and Katie Taylor averaged an estimated 74 million live viewers globally and was the most-watched professional women’s sports event in U.S. history, per Netflix.
The battle between the two ended with Taylor winning and securing her second victory over Serrano.
After the evening ended, Jake Paul told reporters he held back because he “didn’t want to hurt” the former heavyweight champion.
Meanwhile, Tyson shared a statement on social media saying he still felt like a champion.
“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in the ring one last time,” said Tyson.
