“When James and I met, it was like magic and we made a deal,” Christina Milian’s character Layla says in the trailer for Netflix’s upcoming holiday film, Meet Me Next Christmas.
The deal in question is for Layla and James (Queen Sugar star Kofi Siriboe) to meet in New York to attend a Christmas Eve concert featuring a cappella group Pentatonix.
As seen in the below trailer from Netflix this week, it’s not going to be easy. The tickets are sold out and Layla must get help from professional concierge Teddy (Zatima star Devale Ellis).
“Listen, Teddy, my entire romantic future might hinge on this ticket,” Layla warns.

However, after searching together for tickets, Layla seems to question whether she want to find James, or was the perfect guy already in front of her?
“The universe has been leading me to my person. I’m just not sure what person,” Milian’s character ponders.
The cast also includes Tymika Tafari (Slip), comedian Kalen Allen, Nikki Duval (Strays), Wesley French (Vikings), and Pentatonix (Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Matt Sallee).
Rusty Cundieff directed the holiday film, while Camilla Rubis and Molly Haldeman wrote the script.
Mark Roberts is the producer. In addition to starring as the lead, Milian is an executive producer with Simon Lythgoe and Matt Code.
Meet Me Next Christmas will premiere on Netflix Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024.
