In the caption for the video, he said “everyone is fine” and urged thieves to stay away from his house.
“I am the WRONG N— to ROB. Save your energy. I don’t have anything valuable in my house except MY HOUSE,” he wrote. “Robbers don’t waste your energy or your life doing home invasions, s–t is too heavy!!! You want to carry all that bulls–t? Throw your back out, and for what?! I repeat I don’t own s–t valuable. I don’t have a bunch of cash or jewelry. Please pick a better [target].”
TMZ broke the story before Wayans posted an update.
The outlet reported the White Chicks star’s home was burglarized by two people around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29.
Wayans’ brother Keenen Ivory Wayans was reportedly asleep at the time. Later in the morning, a staffer discovered the house was ransacked, and the robbers had “swiped a safe and several thousand dollars in cash,” per TMZ.
Marlon Wayans is the latest celebrity in the Los Angeles area to have a home burglarized.
In 2023, thieves targeted Tina Knowles’ house and reportedly made off with a safe that had more than $1 million in cash and jewelry inside.
In 2022, criminals broke into Megan Thee Stallion’s Hollywood Hills home.
That same year, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley had her home in the Encino area of the city broken into while her husband was out of town.
The Los Angeles Times reported “three intruders held Kemsley at gunpoint” as her children slept. The suspects got away with an estimated $1 million worth of jewelry and handbags, the outlet reported.
Kemsley later recalled the horrifying ordeal on an episode of the Bravo reality series.
“When he saw me, he panicked. He charged at me, grabbed me, put me down, [yelled] ‘get down on the f–king ground, I’m going to f–king kill you,’” Kemsley said one of the men told her.
She said she pleaded for her life, told the thieves she had children she needed to raise, and directed them to her valuables.
