Lil Nas X is set for a drama-filled day on Maury. The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Montero Hill, learns a startling truth on the Nov. 17 episode of the tabloid talk show.
Lil Nas X used to date a man named Yai Ariza, who was one of his backup dancers, only to later discover Yai was married to a woman and had a child. Soon after, the two broke up, but the story doesn’t end there.

According to the teaser trailer for the episode, Lil Nas X sits down with Yai’s wife and says he dated her man for over a month. There’s also the added drama of whether or not the couple’s 4-year-old son is actually Yai’s child.
“Montero found the love of his life,” host Maury Povich says in the promo. “But was shocked to discover Yai was married… with a child. Is Yai the dad? Or will Montero get exactly what he wants?”
The explosive trailer shows an emotional meltdown, an on-air paternity test, and a marriage proposal.
Admittedly, this very well may be part of an elaborate marketing campaign to push Lil Nas X’s debut album, “Montero.”
The album dropped on Sept. 17 to critical and financial success. It had two tracks climb to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 list. “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” peaked at number one and “Industry Baby” peaked at the same rank on Oct. 23.
Lil Nas X has only spoken briefly about his past relationship with Yai, saying the two are still on very good terms.
