Lifetime’s ‘Buried Alive and Survived’ Trailer Shows a Mother’s Determination

“Your daddy is a very dangerous man,” Eva Marcille says in the first trailer for Lifetime’s Buried Alive and Survived. 

Marcille stars in the film as Alicia, who miraculously survives being buried alive by her ex-husband and ex-convict Victor, played by P-Valley and Harlem actor Tyler Lepley. 

After Victor is released from prison, he demands to be reunited with his family and get to know his son.

Alicia knows her troubled ex all too well, and tries to protect their son, Malcolm from his dad. But to get her out of the way, Victor tries to kill his ex-wife.

“You turned me in to the cops, you took my son away from me,” Victor shouts in the trailer at a running and distressed Alicia. Moments later, she finds herself trapped and buried alive.

After she miraculously claws herself out and escapes from her dirt grave, Alicia desperately searches for her son to protect him from his unhinged father. 

Inspired by real and disturbing events, the thriller is part of Lifetime’s fall slate of Ripped from the Headlines movies

Produced by Swirl Films, the executive producers of the film are Abbey Sibucao, Ron Robinson, and Eric Tomosunas. 

The director is Manu Boyer, who also helmed Lifetime’s Girl in the Basement. 

The teleplay was written by Gregory Small and Richard Blaney and was based on a story by Nigel Campbell.

Buried Alive and Survived is set to premiere on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 8 pm ET/PT on Lifetime.
